The Skin Food Black Sugar range of cleansing and skin products is based around providing moisture and gentle exfoliation using black sugar from Brazil.

As you can see, the oil comes in a rather large bottle, with a nice pump. It also has a great little thing to put on the pump when you?re not using it, to prevent it being able to be pushed down accidentally. This makes it perfect for travelling, as it doesn?t risk spilling in your suitcase.

The cleansing oil and scrub both have a fresh scent of lemon and feels very nice to put on your face. We usually am a bit squeamish about too strong scents in skin products, especially for my face, but this one is just fresh and pure, not artificial and too sweet.

As most other cleansing oils, this one is used by taking a small amount, about a pump or two, and gently massaging it onto dry skin. I like to take a good 3-5 minutes, properly working it into my skin and making sure get rid of all that sebum and dirt clogging my pores.

For the most part really like this cleanser. Where some oil based cleansers tend to make skin feel very oily and greasy, even after washing it off, this one comes off easily and skin feels soft and refreshed after use.

As this is a oil, and it is generally designed to dissolve the make-up and not entirely remove it, we would recommend going over with a wipe or a cream cleanser again after removing the most resilient bits with the oil, just to make sure you get any residue left over on your skin.

Recommend this product for anyone looking for a nice gentle cleanser, but urge you to also look into the other products in the range, as they do work better together.

The black sugar scrub foam has really tiny grains of black sugars in it and it feels really gritty at first but at soon as you apply water on it, the sugar particles melt and it turns into a creamy foam. However, don’t expect to much foam as it only foams up a reasonable amount. The scent is exactly like the other products in the black sugar line. I absolutely love the scent, it’s so refreshing- it has a very fresh sweet citrus/lemon-y scent to it.

This is a really gentle scrub in my opinion and it won’t hurt to use it more the 1-2 times a week. Skin feels squeaky clean and really soft after using it! I feel like it has also brighten skin and it is not drying skin out at all! you feed like that this scrub has effectively got rid of all my dead skin cells!

This scrub is part of Skinfoods most popular range of products, their Black Sugar range. And their is a reason is has developed such a cult following…it’s amazing!

The packaging is a gold coloured tube, with Skinfoods classic designed labels on the front and the back. The twist off cap is slightly annoying, as when your hands are full or product, the last thing you want to be worrying about is screwing the lid back on. It would be far easier if the cap was a flip lid, but this annoyance is minor. But do be warned, the contents of the tube do settle over the course of a day and it’s best to shake and tube before using or else when you open it you’ll be welcomed with only liquid and scrub particles.

The scrub itself has tiny grains of black sugar and feels gritty upon first application. But after lathering, the gritty particles melt and the scrub becomes a rich creamy foam. This means that the product is very gentle on your skin, and suitable to be used everyday, or 3 to 4 times a week (depending on how sensitive your skin is). The first few seconds of application are where the real exfoliation will take place so make sure to scrub on the areas you want to fully exfoliate (like the nose and chin areas for me) before the scrub becomes foam.

The scent is amazing, as with all of the other products in this Black Sugar range it’s refreshing and sweet, with a hint of citrus to wake you up and leave your skin reeling revitalised.

After use, skin feels clean, and super soft, without being left too dry. My skin has definitely been brighter, and the product itself is very effective at removing dead skin cells off the surface of my skin. I will most certainly be repurchasing it, along with the serum.
